Every DACA applicant beware! Brittan Academy high school diplomas are not valid! Brittan Academy is a company located in High Point, NC, that purports to issue valid high school diplomas as a nonpublic institution in exchange for $500 (upon information and belief). However, this institution has not been properly accredited and recognized by the NC Department of Education and lacks capacity to issue valid documents.
Unfortunately, this business has not been shut down and continues to issue their certificates. The NC Attorney General has not expressed interest in prosecuting this company for its fraudulent activities. Please note that USCIS has been denying DACA for folks with Brittan Academy “diplomas” for years now. According to the NC Division of Non-Public Education that not only is this not a valid diploma under NC law, but this institution has been running this scheme for years, since 2012, when DACA was first enacted. Please avoid this trap.
